Cardiovascular Surgery

The Cardiovascular Surgery team at the Montreal Children’s Hospital provides care for a wide range of surgical conditions in children with heart disease and lung disease.

Services

We provide consultation, evaluation, surgical care and follow-up care for a range of conditions requiring surgery in children from birth to early adulthood.

We are the referral centre for pediatric cardiac surgical care in the RUISSS-McGill and the RUISSS-Sherbrooke and we also accept referrals from outside the province. 

The Montreal Children’s Hospital is one of only two pediatric hospitals in Quebec with the ability to provide both respiratory and cardiac extracorporeal membrane support for high-risk patients.

Our team also includes two nurse clinicians and an administrative staff member. We work closely with the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, the surgical inpatient unit and the operating rooms.
