Respiratory therapists (RTs) work in medical, neonatal and pediatric intensive care units as well as in the Emergency Department of the Montreal Children’s Hospital. RTs are also members of the resuscitation and trauma teams.
Services
RTs specialize in monitoring and treating patients with breathing problems. Some of our RTs are ultra-specialized, with extensive training in the management and transport of critically ill and premature infants. Others are also members of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) team, which supports children who need to be stabilized on a heart and lung bypass machine that delivers oxygen directly to their bloodstream.
Team
Our team includes 50 RTs as well as an assistant chief, a clinical educator and a technical coordinator.
