Services
Respiratory therapists (RTs) work in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, and are valued members of the resuscitation and trauma teams. RTs also work in the operating room, the pulmonary function lab and the sleep lab of the Montreal Children’s Hospital. RTs specialize in monitoring and treating patients with breathing problems. Some of our RTs are ultra-specialized, with extensive training in the management and transport of critically ill infants and children. Others are also members of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) team, which supports children who need to be stabilized on a heart and lung bypass machine that delivers oxygen directly to their bloodstream.
Team
Our team includes 50 RTs as well as an assistant chief, a clinical educator and a technical coordinator.
