Research at the MCH

A long tradition of research

The Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH) created its own research Institute in 1966 in order to promote and facilitate excellence in child health research. In 1996, the Institute joined other research centres at McGill University to establish the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC).

The MCH counts numerous physicians and health professionals involved in basic and clinical research. They conduct their research activities at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC), a research powerhouse with a worldwide reputation in the field of biomedical sciences and health care.

Most MCH researchers are active members of the RI-MUHC Child Health and Human Development Program (CHHD), which aims to increase our understanding of early life events and factors that have the potential to dictate lifelong human health.

The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec−santé (FRQS).
