Volunteer at the MCH!

Volunteers make a real difference in the lives of our patients, families and staff at the Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH).

As an MCH volunteer, you can bring cheer to our waiting rooms, soothe our young patients, help parents find their way around the hospital and support MCH staff, among other important tasks.

All are welcome

The Montreal Children’s Hospital values the strength, commitment, and diversity of our volunteers. The children and families we care for are diverse, and so are our volunteers. All are welcome to join our unique organizational culture and be part of our inclusive team. You will be scheduled for a weekly, three-hour shift throughout their commitment.

Volunteers work in collaboration with the Child Life Department and are an important part of the patient’s hospital experience. They contribute in a day-treatment setting, inpatient unit, patient playroom and in so many other interesting environments. As part of their role, they can play games, do arts and crafts, cuddle a baby, read stories, prepare individual craft or distraction kits, or decorate the hospital for events and seasons.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!
