General Surgery
The Pediatric General Surgery team’s surgeons, nurses and other staff members understand that surgery can be stressful and we work together to ensure the well-being of our patients. Patients are at the heart of our mission and we provide state-of-the-art surgical care to children in a friendly, compassionate, and family-centered environment. We also train future pediatric surgeons and conduct cutting-edge research.
Service
Whenever possible, we use the latest and most advanced surgical techniques using laparoscopy and thoracoscopy to optimize patient recovery and minimize pain and scarring after surgery. We use efficient and effective treatments for many common childhood conditions such as hernia, hydroceles, undescended testicles and circumcisions. We also conduct telephone follow-ups for non-complicated cases to save parents time and avoid unnecessary hospital visits.
Our team provides consultation, evaluation, surgical care and follow-up care for a range of pediatric surgical conditions, including:
- Fetal consultation and counseling
- Congenital anomalies
- Tumours
- Chest and chest wall conditions
- Head and neck conditions
- Minimally invasive surgery
- Same-day surgery
- Acute surgical care
We promise to serve as advocates for each child within the healthcare system, keep patients and families fully informed of their treatment plan and address concerns in an open and honest manner.
