The Birthing Centre at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) provides compassionate, family-centered care for expectant mothers with high-risk pregnancies. Although part of the Obstetrics department of the MUHC, the centre’s administration is based at the Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH), reflecting our shared commitment to maternal and child health.

Our interdisciplinary team — nurses, physicians, residents, and allied health professionals — works closely to ensure a safe and positive birth experience, supported by the MUHC’s expertise in complex obstetrical care.

Breastfeeding

The MUHC complies with the World Health Organization’s Baby-Friendly Initiative to implement practices that promote, protect, and support breastfeeding.

This page provides resources and information on breastfeeding.
