The Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition cares for children with complex gastrointestinal or liver disorders. We also perform medical procedures and tests that help diagnose and manage specific conditions.

Services

Our team consults on gastrointestinal health problems for patients who are admitted to the hospital, as well as for patients who are referred on an outpatient basis. Examples of these problems include:

  • chronic abdominal pain and diarrhea
  • severe chronic vomiting
  • poor weight gain or growth
  • intestinal bleeding
  • liver abnormalities

Referrals

All patients must be referred by their primary physician. A detailed referral request, including a copy of the child’s growth charts and previous test results, should be provided. Appointments are given according to the level of medical urgency.
