Services

The Montreal Children’s Hospital provides care to children with both common and rare eye conditions. Our services include targeted treatment options and surgical interventions.

We are equipped to handle a wide range of eye conditions including cataracts, corneal and anterior segment disorders, red eyes, low vision, and blindness. Other conditions we treat include:

  • Strabismus, nystagmus and amblyopia
  • Eye traumas
  • Ocular and orbital conditions (requiring plastic surgery)
  • Neuro-ophthalmological conditions including optic nerve and brain disorders
  • Retinal degenerations (retinitis pigmentosa, leber congenital amaurosis, cone and cone-rod dystrophies)
  • Night blindness
  • Uveitis 

We also care for diabetic, sickle cell, rheumatology, seizure and hemoglobinopathy patients.

We offer an interdisciplinary program for retinoblastoma and glaucoma in conjunction with CHU Sainte-Justine.

The only rehabilitation centre in Quebec that specializes solely in visual impairment (site in French only).
