Food services and amenities

The MCH has a variety of food and retail outlets as well as entertainment activities.

ATM

ATMs are located:

  • On level S1 in block A (Montreal Children’s Hospital)
  • On S1 and RC in block C (Royal Victoria Hospital).  

Cafeteria

The cafeteria is located on level S1 of block C. The cafeteria accepts cash, debit and credit cards. An outdoor terrace is open from May to October.

Monday to Friday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 
Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Stores and services

At the hospital
Restaurants and retail outlets are located on the ground floor (RC) and level S1, as well as blocks C and E.

Within walking distance
There are a number of shops and services within a 10-minute walk from the hospital, on Sherbrooke Street West, between Décarie Blvd. and Victoria Ave.

Wi-Fi and TV

The Montreal Children’s Hospital provides free basic Wi-Fi Internet access.

Computers

Computer workstations with internet access are available in the National Bank Family Resource Centre and Library on the main floor (block A, RC.1107), as well as in the TD Child Life and School Services Activity Centre on level S1.

Television

A television with an entertainment package, which includes a number of channels as well as Netflix, is available in all patient rooms free of charge.

Telephones

Every patient room has a telephone for the family’s use. Local and toll-free calls can be made from your room by dialing “9” followed by the telephone number. Long-distance calls cannot be made.

Cell phones

Please limit the use of your cell phone; turn down the volume of the ringtone or set your phone to vibrate.

Keep a minimum distance of one meter from biomedical equipment when using your cell phone.


If you wish to film, take a picture, or record a conversation, you must make sure that you have obtained the consent of the persons appearing in the image.


Child Life and School Services

Certified Child Life specialists are trained to help children and families to cope with the stress and uncertainty of acute and chronic illness, injury, trauma, disability, loss and grief. They provide developmentally and psychologically appropriate interventions including medical and therapeutic play to reduce fear, anxiety and pain. Child Life affiliated programs include pet therapy, music therapy, the Dr. Clown program and School Services.

The TD Child Life Activity Centre is located on level S1 of block B (B S1.2702).
