The relationship between physician, patient and family is a very important one, especially during times of need. This rings true for the St. Marseille family, who recently visited the Montreal Children’s Hospital from California to personally thank our very own Dr. Sherif Emil once again for saving their son’s life.
In 2004, Dr. Emil (who was working in California at the time) performed surgery on six day old Daniel for a life-threatening condition called necrotizing entercolitis – a very serious infection and inflammation of the intestine. Thankfully, Daniel managed to fully recover and is now a healthy and happy nine year old boy.“We have a very special connection to Dr. Emil because of his faith, his can-do attitude and positive outlook,” says Dan St. Marseille, Daniel’s father, “He reminds us of someone who doesn’t think of himself – he uses his talents for the betterment of the world.”
