Did you work at the legacy site of the Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH)? Do you remember the raccoon that used to hide on isolation cards?
This raccoon was a beloved member of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team. Rumour has it, our furry friend was supposed to take the last transfer ambulance from the legacy site to the Glen site, but missed it—apparently too busy frolicking around Cabot Square in search of a springtime sweetheart. It was mating season, after all…
While sorting through some accumulated supplies, the Children’s IPC team stumbled upon a curious little raccoon peeking out from behind a stack of hand hygiene posters. Naturally, they did what any reasonable team would do—they hired it on the spot!
Now officially part of the team, this new raccoon is brushing up on infection prevention protocols, attending meetings (mostly for the snacks), and preparing to become the face of the Children’s IPC team.
And now, during National Infection Control Week, we need your help!
Our new raccoon needs a name—and who better to decide than the amazing staff and patients of the Montreal Children’s Hospital? That’s right—we’re launching a naming contest open to everyone at the MCH!
Keep it simple, creative, inclusive, and gender-neutral… and who knows? Your suggestion might just become legendary.
Thank you in advance for your participation!
