November 8th to 14th marks Radiology Technologist Week: a chance to highlight the exceptional contribution of all of our technologists who work in the Children’s Medical Imaging department. Whether they conduct X-ray exams, ultrasounds, fluoroscopy exams, CT scans or MRIs, each and every technologist plays a vital role in helping our specialists provide exceptional care to our patients and their families. Join us in thanking all of our technologists for the indispensable work they do every day!
MCH Radiology Technologists Catherine Lizotte and Assia Tverie stand in front of the brand new scoliosis machine, located in the Medical Imaging Department on the 2nd floor of Block B. The colourful machine is used to image patients standing up, to view the spine and lower extremities. The machine is not only child-friendly, but gives off seven times less radiation than a general radiography X-ray.
6-year old Faithlynn undergoes an abdominal ultrasound with ultrasound coordinator Nancy Iannantuono in the Medical Imaging Department on the 2nd floor of Block B.
MCH Radiology Technologist Vanessa Théberge stands in a brand new X-ray room in the Medical Imaging Department at the Children’s with Dawson Diagnostic Imaging students Erika Morin, Alyssa Boucher and Kerry-Ann Thompson. Teaching is a large part of the department’s day-to-day activities, with students completing rotations in pediatrics as part of their training.
Maryanne Fortin starts her day in the brand new fluoroscopy room in the Medical Imaging Department at the Children’s. This room is used for tests that require live images, kind of like an X-ray movie.
MCH Radiology Technologists Marc Bégin and Josée Melançon monitor a patient undergoing an MRI exam in one of two brand new MRI machines at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
It takes a team! MCH Radiology Technologists Audrey Delongchamp, Andrée-Anne Belle and Kristen Templeton pose for a photo in the MRI suite at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
MCH Radiology Technologist Mikel Laspalas prepares for the next patient’s arrival in the CT scan suite at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
MCH Radiology Technologists Robert Dragomir, Jean Philip Garant, Marjolaine Boilard, Carole Proulx and Nathalie Gemmell are all smiles as they pose next to a brand new mobile X-ray machine outside of an X-ray room in the Emergency Department.
