Appointment: Dr. Eva-Flore Bui-Xuan, Chief of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

I am delighted to announce the nomination of our new Chief of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Eva-Flore Bui-Xuan. 

Dr. Bui joined us several months ago, replacing one of our colleagues on leave, and has made impressive clinical contributions already. In this short time, she has clearly demonstrated tireless advocacy for her patients and their families, many of whom are extremely vulnerable.  Once such patient is clinically improving thanks to an unusual procedure for children. Dr. Bui was able to organize adult and pediatric colleagues from many specialties to plan a protocol and ensure a safe and effective intervention here at the Children’s, so that child and family would benefit within the welcoming comfort of a children’s hospital. 

 I know you will warmly welcome Dr. Bui to our MCH family.  I repeat my thanks to her predecessor Dr. Martin Gignac, whose term ended in early 2023, for the rebirth of the department during his tenure.  I also thank all members of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for ensuring stability and success of the department during this period between chiefs.
